LYRICS
I got a text from her
She’s still Ms. Miller in my phone
She’s called a couple times too
You’re in my prayers honey
How have you been getting on
Of course she doesn’t mention you
I don’t know what you told her
I don’t know what she knows
One Sunday she made dinner and I just never showed
Tell your mother I’m fine
Tell her I moved on with my life
I don’t know if she’s worried about me or that you’re a bad guy, but
Tell your mother I’m fine
I’ve been working late more
I took up running in the park
And I painted my walls Alice Blue
Will you add that to your story
Will you leave out the ugly parts
And will you look her in the eye when you do
She probably thinks we grew apart and so do your friends I bet
And it’s not up to me to break it to any of them, so
Tell your mother I’m fine
Tell her I moved on with my life
I don’t know if she’s worried about me or that you’re a bad guy, but
Tell your mother I’m fine
‘Cause what differences does it make really
We both know you’re not opposed to lying
Tell your mother I’m fine
I’ll leave it up to you to reply
Paint some pretty picture, how we’re better off and we tried
And I’m fine
And I’m fine

Having signed her first publishing deal at 14 years old, Jordyn Shellhart literally grew up writing songs with Nashville’s elite. Since then, she has blossomed into one of those songwriters in her own right, with credits including Little Big Town’s Grammy-nominated “Sugar Coat,” and songs recorded by Kelsea Ballerini, Cody Johnson, Don Williams, Mickey Guyton and others. Now lending her own voice to her own songs, her debut album is set to be released on Warner Music Nashville. With artistry recalling a classic country foundation, modern pop sensibilities, indie spirit and the vulnerability of the singer/songwriter greats, Shellhart hearkens to the best parts of the past and pushes boundaries into the future all at once.
