June 26th sees the release of Abbey’s sophomore single ‘Never Stop Dancing’, follow-up to debut ‘While I’m Here’. Both songs can be found on her album ‘Red Wine & Cigarettes’, a showcase of Abbey’s songwriting talents, which is set for a Fall 2020 release.

Abbey says: ‘Never Stop Dancing’ was inspired by my grandma, who fled Indonesia when she was barely 18 years old, and arrived by boat in The Netherlands. She was dancing back then and she still is, and she is the one who made me fall in love with country music and line dancing. We’ve spent a lot of time dancing together over the years’. Abbey’s grandmother is also prominently featured in the music video.

‘Never Stops Dancing’ also features Justin Glasco (The Lone Bellow) on drums and is mixed by Billy Centenaro, who has worked on music from Neil Young, Dave Matthews Band, Kesha, Sara Bareilles and more.

Abbey’s debut album ‘Red Wine & Cigarettes’ is a tribute to the country and Americana music she so dearly loves. It was recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy-winning producer Rich Jacques. Abbey,  although being used to the spotlights, is still a bit scared to call herself a full-blown singer. “I’m first and foremost a storyteller, just this time I’m doing it through my songs. Making music feels much more exposed as acting, as it comes straight from your own heart. There’s no mask to hide behind or a role to play.” It’s also not a complete switch in careers, as there are still various motion pictures on the horizon for Abbey.
