Nadat Thomas Rhett met familie en vrienden was teruggekeerd van een reis naar Cabo, leek het erop dat zijn eerste instinct was om de dag van zijn volgers op te fleuren met een kijkje in zijn persoonlijke leven. Dus plaatste hij wat foto's van de reis op social media.
Maar sommige mensen zagen meer dan alleen de foto's.
Wat ze zagen, en waarover ze massaal over gingen discussiëren was de beslissing van Thomas Rhett om op een niet essentiële reis te gaan.
Wanneer de rest van de wereld thuisblijft om de verspreiding van Covid-19 te stoppen. Maar de negativiteit was genoeg om Thomas Rhett ertoe te brengen een pauze te nemen van Instagram. "Te veel negativiteit in een app waar ik te veel tijd aan besteed".

Dat gezegd hebbende, waren de meeste commentaren positief. Maar de Covid-shaming is wat opvalt, en is het soort negativiteit dat Thomas Rhett dwong deze moeilijke beslissing te nemen.
