Willie Nelson and the Boys (Willie’s Stash, Vol.2) is het tweede deel in de Willie’s Stash reeks, waar hij met familie en vrienden verschillend country werk ten gehore brengt. Waar Willie in het eerste deel van Willie’s Stash, Vol. 1: December Day uit 2014, werd bijgestaan door zijn zus Bobbie, is het dit keer de beurt aan zijn zoons Lukas Nelson en Micah Nelson. Er wordt een prachtige selectie Amerikaans country werk gespeeld, waarvan zeven tracks door Hank Williams Sr. geschreven zijn.
De opnames van Willie Nelson and the Boys (Willie’s Stash, Vol.2)zijn grotendeels gemaakt tijdens de studiosessies van Heroes, het eerste album van Willie op Legacy Recordings uit 2011. Het album is wederom geproduceerd door vriend, oudgediende en Grammy winnaar Buddy Cannon.
Zoals Willie zelf zegt over het album: "....kinda like the country version of 'Stardust.' Where you have all these great songs and standards that the young people have never heard, then all of a sudden you have a whole new audience out there."
Willie Nelson and the Boys (Willie’s Stash, Vol. 2) verschijnt 20 oktober op CD en LP.
