Klinkt nogal uitdagend. Of doorslaggevend. Of zelfs defensief. En toch, zonder zelfs Eric Church die regel uit de titel van zijn aankomende song te horen zingen, denken we dat we precies weten wat hij bedoelt met "Stick That In Your Country Song".

Eerder in juni had hij het nieuws gedeeld dat er nieuwe muziek op komst was. En nu hebben we nog een paar details over het nieuwe materiaal.

Eric was aan het schrijven en opnemen in een landelijke hut ergens in North Carolina, dit voordat de coronavirusquarantaine alles veranderde.

Zijn nieuwe single is geschreven door Davis Naish en Jeffery Steele.

Tijdens de pandemie die daar meer dan drie maanden geleden begon, heeft Eric virtuele manieren gevonden om nieuwe nummers als 'Never Break Heart', 'Jenny' en 'Through My Ray Bans' te delen. Maar dit is de eerste die we hebben gehoord van een officiële single die op 29 juni in de states uitkomt. En de video voor 'Stick That In Your Country Song' zal deze vrijdag (26 juni) worden uitgebracht.

'Ik probeer mezelf in de meest ongemakkelijke situaties te brengen', had Eric gezegd tijdens het Country Radio Seminar in Nashville in februari. 'We moeten onszelf dwingen om te jagen. Voor mij is het erg ongrijpbaar. Met creativiteit geldt: hoe meer je probeert en benadrukt, hoe meer het niet gebeurt. " Daartoe deelt dit nieuwe nummer Church's kijk op de huidige staat van de wereld en volgens een persbericht zal het een strijdkreet zijn.
